An old noir mystery plot is upgraded to the campaign trail: a disillusioned, depressed United States presidential candidate (Warren Beatty) hires a hitman to kill himself -- one week before the primary -- but then he meets a woman (Halle Berry) and decides that life is worth living after all. Can he succeed in bringing a halt to his own assassination?, Political satire about an American senator who tires of playing the game and gives up standard campaign rhetoric in favour of brutal honesty. Spiritually sickened by all the lies he peddles in his crowd-pleasing efforts, the senator arranges his own assassination. But his impending death seems to grant him a new sense of freedom, and he begins to speak his mind, regardless of the consequences.
