A Budapesti Egyesítési Emlékbizottság és a Magyar Filmintézet támogatásával készült összeállításunk abból a szempontból tér el a korábbi Budapest-filmektől, hogy ebben kizárólag archív felvételek láthatók. Mozihíradó-, reklám- és rövidfilm-részletek. Ám ezekben nem a fővárossal kapcsolatos történelmi és politikai eseményeké a főszerep. Sokkal inkább a 'város lelkét' kívánjuk megragadni és feltárni. Azt, hogy miként éltek a fővárosiak a hatvanas, hetvenes években. Milyenek voltak az étkezési, öltözködési szokásaik, hova jártak szórakozni. Várostörténet ez szekunder szinten, a budapesti hétköznapok történelme.
