Synopsis
A harrowing 1988 escape by Vietnamese refugees from their homeland is recalled in this documentary, which follows a survivor as she returns to a Filipino village, home to fishermen who rescued them. After the engine on their wooden boat broke, the 111 refugees onboard found themselves adrift at sea for 37 days with little food or water. Eventually, 58 people died; and some survivors reportedly turned to cannibalism.
