호텔의 건물에 매달려 창문 닦는 일을 하던 문오는 호텔 방안에 있던 정화를 본다. 그는 정화를 콜걸로 생각하며 얘기를 나눈다. 정화는 내심 문오를 마음에 두게 된다. 하지만 문오는 친구의 소개로 만난 부잣집 여자인 미옥과 결혼하려 한다. 문오의 결혼계획을 알게 된 정화는 문오에게 사랑한다고 고백하지만 거절당한다. 어느날 미옥의 집에서 미옥이 숨기려던 사진을 보게 된 문오. 미옥은 이미 그의 친구와 내밀한 사이가 되었음을 알게 된다. 호텔로 정화를 찾아간 문오. 그날 문오는 정화가 그 호텔 한회장의 손녀임을 알게 된다. 정화는 문오에게 다시 한번 기회를 주지만 문오는 받아들이지 못하고 돌아선다.
