Big Night

Mouth-watering film about two Italian brothers trying to make a success of their authentic restaurant in 1950s New York. Primo (Tony Shalhoub) is the extremely gifted but difficult chef and his brother Secondo (Stanley Tucci) is the smooth front man who tries in vain to keep the restaurant afloat and to control his brother's temper. The restaurant is in dire trouble and the brothers are staring failure in the face when successful restaurant owner Pascal (Ian Holm) offers a solution. He owns a flashy Americanized Italian eatery which offers customers entertainment and mediocre food and suggests that he invite his 'friend', a big jazz musician, to play at the brothers' restaurant. Excited, the brothers set about preparing for the big night, inviting friends along for the event. Primo is planning a feast fit for a king with enough food to feed the whole of Italy! When the guests arrive, the food and drink begins to flow and the crowd enjoy a riotous night of dancing and singing as the brothers discover what really matters in life.
