Kunstmaleren Jørgen har talent men ikke heldet med sig. Hans overbo er balletdanserinde og har måske ikke det store talent, men til gengæld heldet med sig. Fx lover direktør Bang hende at han vil støtte hendes teater, hvis hun selv tager hovedrollen. Else er ikke specielt begejstret for arrangementet og Bangs kurmageri. Jørgen har også et godt øje til den smukke pige, men er for genert til at melde klart ud. Han er heller ikke glad for udviklingen.
