L’Art Brut qui se dérobe à toute règle et aux lois de l’argent résonne avec le cinéma de Damien Odoul. Cinéaste et poète, il a choisi avec sa compagne Marie-Eve Nadeau, documentariste et monteuse, 5 artistes belges dans différentes institutions psychiatriques pour les accueillir en résidence dans une forêt sauvage des Cévennes, en Lozère, dans le sud de la France. Durant une semaine, Damien Odoul a plongé Laura Delvaux, Alain Meert, Julien Detiège, Jean-Marie Heyligen et Tony Coopman dans sa forêt parce que comme disait Dubuffet, le père de l’art brut : « L’art ne vient pas coucher dans les lits qu’on a faits pour lui ; il se sauve aussitôt qu’on prononce son nom ».
