Synopsis
Amy Madigan and Ed Harris, married in real life, star in Louis Malle's strong take on racial prejudice. Harris is the owner of a failing business who has a strong relationship with Madigan but he cannot cope with the arrival in the Texan port of the film's title of Vietnamese fishermen led by Ho Nguyen. Inevitably, the two communities clash but the tension arises from Madigan's passion for Harris and her belief in what is right.
