Synopsis
Peter Miller and William Hechter's documentary A.K.A. Doc Pomus chronicles the life of the celebrated songwriter responsible for such enduring hits like Save the Last Dance for Me," "Viva Las Vegas,", and many more. Born Jerome Felder, Pomus suffered a brutal bout with polio that left him wheelchair-bound for much of his life, but he overcame these obstacles do become one of the most respected songwriters of his era, something that the filmmakers make explicit in interviews with legendary musical figures like Dion, Dr. John, and Lou Reed.
